Sessions down the side, not across the top
Horizontal tabs run out of room at about six. A vertical rail holds far more, stays readable, and leaves space for each session to say something about itself.
what I'm building / Builder Console
One app for every terminal you have open, organized instead of scattered. Sessions run down the left rather than across the top, and each one shows what it has actually been doing.
Why it's interesting
Horizontal tabs run out of room at about six. A vertical rail holds far more, stays readable, and leaves space for each session to say something about itself.
A rolling graph per pane, so a glance tells you which sessions are busy and which have gone quiet. A static list of names cannot do that.
Sessions group by project, and closing one does not throw it away. Come back and pick it up rather than reconstructing it from memory.
How I built it
Terminal multiplexers are a crowded category with several good free options, so this only earns its place by being better at one specific thing: showing you the state of a lot of work at once.
The activity graphs are the whole idea. Everything else follows from the decision that a session list should tell you what is happening, not just what exists.
